This is to be completed over a period of 10–12 months.
Course Admission Process.
This is a highly competitive and intense Course; therefore, admission is based on a criterion, which ensures that only the eligible students are admitted. All applications received before the deadline are scrutinized and those meeting the minimum criteria are called for an interview. The interviews, both written and oral, produce the top student at which a maximum of 25 are admitted.
OPTIONS On Minimum Academic Requirements:
The EMT Council has set a KCSE minimum grade of C- for admission into the EMT Course. They have also stipulated that a student who scores a D+ or D plain may be allowed to enroll for the EMT Course under the following conditions:
- Have done and completed the Emergency Medical Responder, EMR Course
- Have prior experience and certification in a recognized medical-related course
The EMR Course serves as a “bridging course” and is available out our institution for a cost of 22,500 shillings. It takes a maximum of fours weeks and is intended to prepare and acclimatize the student with the expected course content in the EMT training. The EMR Course cost is SEPARATE from the cumulative cost of the EMT Course. We encourage those students who wish to enroll for the EMT Course and have not met the C- KCSE requirement to report earlier than the rest so that they can finish the EMR Course in time. We also believe in molding the “bridging student” into the right mindset before commencement of the EMT Course. Some of our former students who began with the EMR Course have turned out to be big success stories because we offer a personalized and humanistic experience right from the first day of training.
